The Duplain Church of Christ exists to assist, encourage, inform and spur on all Christians to work in their ministry to further the "Kingdom of God" in our community, our country and in foreign lands. We are a dynamic church sharing the Word of God and making disciples for Christ by exalting God. Our mission is to reach out to and evangelize our community in order to bring people into Christ and His Church; raise them up and disciple them into Christ-like maturity; as well as equip and ready them for their ministry in the church and the world.
The Churches of Christ or Christian Churches, are not a denomination, but rather a fellowship of Christian believers. Formed in the early 1800's out of deep concern for Christian unity, the Christian Churches now number thousands of congregations with millions of members. Duplain Church of Christ members are a part of this heritage and are a fellowship of believers who would rather be known simply by the name "Christian" than by the name of any denomination.
We Believe: That Christ Jesus is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and who rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:1-8); That the Bible is the inspired Word of God -- a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (2 Tim. 3:16); That every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23); That forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord (John 3:16); That those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized into Him (Rom. 10:9 & Acts 2:38); That the church is the body of Christ on earth and exists to save the lost as well as edify the saved (Eph. 4:1-16); and, That Christ Jesus will one day return for His people and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (1 Thess. 4:13-18).
