What's So
Different About South Lansing Christian
Church? When people visit SLCC, they will likely notice some
differences from the last church where they may have worshipped. First,
South Lansing Christian Church is a non-denominational church. SLCC is
part of a large fellowship of Christian churches, with tens of thousands of
independent congregations scattered all over the world. Churches of this
fellowship seek to restore the Lord's church as it is revealed in scripture,
without all of the manmade traditions and creeds.
Second, the Bible is our only blueprint for living. In all things we
seek to follow the teaching of the New Testament concerning the church.
That is why we say, "Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is
silent, we are silent. We accept the Bible as the only inspired word of
God.
Third, the terms of membership for SLCC have already been identified in
God's word and we accept the plan of Jesus, without adding to it. Those
who desire membership must believe that Jesus is God's only Son; turn back to
God and confess the name of Jesus; and be baptized by immersion. Persons
who have done this in another congregation are accepted into SLCC's fellowship by transfer.
As Christians, SLCC worshippers have the opportunity to celebrate the Lord's
Supper -- in memory of Christ Jesus' sacrifice -- each and every Sunday as was
done in first century churches. At South Lansing Christian Church you
will find a friendly atmosphere of caring and acceptance which will allow you
an opportunity to experience God personally.
South Lansing Christian Church members have discovered the joy of growing
together as Christians as well as providing opportunities for all to seek a
fully committed relationship with Christ Jesus. SLCC is open to anyone
seeking God's blessing, wishing to worship Him or desiring to learn more about
God, our Lord Jesus or the Holy Spirit.

JUL 15-19 beginning at 6 p.m. Vacation Bible School at SLCC.
This years theme is Avalanche Ranch, a
Wild Ride Through Gods World! This year,
the kids will be stuffing teddy bears and giving them to other children as our
mission project. The bears will either be kept locally or sent to the Getters
Mission in India.

JUL 16 at 6 p.m. Elders Meeting in the SLCC Conference Room.
JUL 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. Wedding Shower for Stacia Vaughn,
daughter of Faith Herrick, in the Activities Room of the Great Lakes Christian Homes, 2050 S. Washington Rd., Holt, Mich. Stacia
is registered at Target and Kohls under Kinser-Vaughn in Mich.
and Indiana.
JUL 22 starting around 1 p.m. SLCC Summer Picnic is scheduled at Hawk
Island Park
(off Cavanaugh Road between
Pennsylvania Avenue and Aurelius
Road). Hog dogs and buns will be provided by
the church. Please bring a dish to pass, your own tableware and drinks.
Come and enjoy the food, festivities and fellowship.

24 at 7 p.m. First Place for Women Orientation Session at South
Lansing Christian Church, 6300 Aurelius
Rd., Lansing, Mich.
This session is necessary to participate in this Christ-Centered Health Program for the classes starting the week of
August 13 (Mondays at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6
p.m.). Information on required commitments, class
availability and cost of materials will be reviewed. Attendance at an
orientation and pre-registration is required before joining a First
Place session. First
Place will provide you with the support needed to
strengthen your walk with Christ through Bible study, prayer, scripture
memorization, healthy eating and regular exercise. For more information

AUG 5 at 10 a.m. First Day in Pulpit for New Senior Minister Frank Weller at SLCC.
Frank and his family will be moving to Lansing
during the last part of July. Following services on Aug. 5 a HUGE potluck
meal is planned to celebrate the Wellers joining the
SLCC family.
SEP 14 & 15 Clothing Drive in the Holt L&L parking lot. SLCC will again
participate with Master Provisions in collecting, bagging, and shipping clothes
to other parts of the world during the Annual Clothing Drive. Clothes
need to be in good condition and clean. Master Provisions also ships
shoes and purses to people in need all over the world. For more
